If you are suffering financial hardship and are unable to make your monthly mortgage payments, please contact your current loan servicer (the company you make your payments to) for information regarding the types of assistance that may be available to you.
If Axia Home Loans (“Axia“) is your current loan servicer, we are here to help.
We value you as our customer and we’re committed to excellence in our service to you, particularly during these difficult and uncertain times.
Axia uses a third-party sub-servicer, Dovenmuehle, to assist in the management of mortgage loans we service. For instructions on how to register online and apply for hardship assistance, please visit the Hardship Assistance Page or call 1-855-233-0938. If calling, please be aware that there may be an extended wait time to speak with a representative due to higher than normal call volume.
Information Regarding Forbearance
Forbearance may be a great option for those who can no longer make their monthly mortgage payments due to a sudden unforeseen financial hardship caused by Covid-19. However, there are some important things to remember when applying for this type of assistance:
- Forbearance is NOT loan forgiveness. Principal and accrued interest will be due at a later time.
- The mortgage payments you skip during forbearance are not automatically added to the end of your loan term and may be due much sooner.
- If you can afford to make your monthly payments, forbearance is likely not the best option for you because it can put you in a more difficult financial position when the payments eventually become due.
- When contacting your loan servicer for assistance, be sure to ask about other options that may be available given your circumstances.
